A fireside chat with Mechai Viravaidya

It was only fitting that Mechai Viravaidya was the mentor for the AAA’s inaugural mentoring sessions. Ajarn Mechai’s is one of the country’s most prominent alumni with a life-long career of service to Thai society. While he was a Cabinet minister, Ajarn Mechai acted as a catalyst for change by promoting the use of condoms and population control. Later, he was also instrumental in urging government to act aggressively in combating HIV-AIDS. More recently, he spearheads the drive to urge the private sector to be involved in promoting schools as centers of learning and sustainable, economic activity for communities.
