The Australian Ambassador’s Cup Golf

In one of its first major events, the Australian Alumni Association (Thailand) organised the Australian Alumni Golf Challenge at the Thana City Golf and Country Club. About 100 golfers joined in the event to vie for the Australian Ambassador’s Cup. Although Ambassador H.E. Paul Robilliard does not play golf, he fully supported the event and officiated at the award ceremony. He handed over the Australian Ambassador’s Cup to  Mark Johnson and Mrs Duangkamol Waagensen – the winners of the Men Overall low gross (37-36) and Women’s Overall low gross (40-40). AAA alumni Edward Shinapat took the coveted Boobie prize. Elder alumni and VIP sponsor Khun Chote Sophonpanich presented the special lucky draw (limited edition Jason Day autographed photos donated by John Buckby, an alumnus from Queensland, to Khun Paul Choong of Thai Bev. AAA Thailand is most grateful to all our sponsors and golfers who made this successful and memorable event possible.

For events organised by the Australian Embassy, AAA Thailand will submit names of alumni members to the embassy on a rotation basis. However, the final decision as to which alumni are invited rests with the Australian Embassy.
